Self-Assembly

Programmed self-assembly is one methodology used to give structure to the sensor array self-assembly. In the video below, scrabble size tiles equipped with a various combinations of magnets spell out "T-E-X-A-S" after continuous agitation for ~8 minutes. This approach could be generalized to micron scales.

Modeling of the self-assembly dynamics provided by multiple interfacial models could be found in the following Self-assembly Modeling Presentation. THe developed model was verified using a tilt experiment.
